ABOUT DR. ADAMS:
Dr. George Q. Adams is a university trained, Board Certified Orthodontist who, for 25 years, has specialized in treating children and adults. He received his DDS degree, Summa Cum Laude from Baylor University, graduating number one in his class and earning the Alpha Omega Scholastic Award as Valedictorian. He was elected to the "Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities" and to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Scholastic Society, the Phi Beta Kappa of Dentistry. He received the Certificate of Honor from Baylor College of Dentistry when he earned the top scholastic average of the class and also received the Southwest Academy of Restorative Dentistry Award, which is given to the graduating senior dental student with the highest clinical average for actual treatment done on patients. He has been voted as one of "Dallas' Best Orthodontists" ("D" magazine poll of Dallas area dentists), one of Texas' Best Orthodontists (Texas Monthly Magazine poll statewide) and one of America's Best Orthodontists (Consumers Research Council of America).
When he graduated from Dental School, Dr. Adams was accepted for orthodontic training at Harvard University in Boston, and at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. He chose to attend Baylor in order to study with world-renowned clinical professors, Dr. Robert E. Gaylord and Dr. Richard G. Alexander.
After receiving his Master's degree in Dental Science (MSD) and his Clinical Certificate in Orthodontics from Baylor University, Dr. Adams became interested in facial proportion, balance and symmetry, particularly in reference to the width of the smile and elimination of the "dark corners" of the smile caused by narrow upper dental arches. He pioneered in the Plano area, the use of orthopedic expansion of both arches to achieve beautiful, functional smiles, and to avoid the extraction of permanent teeth in most cases. In addition, he became very interested in dental function and jaw joint function, graduating from the Roth-Williams institute for Advanced Occlusal Study. Dr. Adams constantly attends continuing education, as a student and as a teacher. He has lectured extensively in the United States on advanced state of the art techniques in orthodontics. To date he has given over 30 seminars in 18 different states from Massachusetts to California. Dr. Adams is a member of the very prestigious Schulman Study Group and the Progressive Study Club led by Dr. Tom Pitts.
He is a recipient of the C. T. Rowland Orthodontic Award for Clinical Excellence. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and is Board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. Dr. Adams is committed to providing the finest personalized orthodontic care that is possible for patients in a comfortable and caring environment. He utilizes state of the art technology in diagnosing and treating patients and he emphasizes a team approach between doctor, staff, and patients. His practice has been built from referrals from satisfied patients, families, friends, and dentists.
Dr. Adams and his wife, Debbie, love spending time with their daughters, Lauren and Lindsey. Lauren and her husband Chase live in San Antonio and have blessed Debbie and George with a very active and fun grandson named Hudson. Lindsey and her husband Jarrod live in Dallas. There are many grand-dogs and grand-cats running around and life is always very fun! Family and faith are the most important things in life to Debbie, George, and their children. They are members at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano.
